All parents encounter problems with their children's clothes at one point. Here are some common clothing dilemmas and ideas on how to solve them:

1. Your child wants to wear the same shirt everyday.
Your child may be attached to a particular item of clothing and wants to wear it all the time. The best thing to do is give in to your child. Make sure that this clothing item is washed regularly. This is a common phase that children go through, and will eventually outgrow it.

2. Your child is growing too fast.
Parents spend a fortune when a child outgrows clothes quickly. Purchase pants with garter or adjustable waists. If your child is a girl, buy long sleeveless dresses. As your child grows, the outfit will just look like a short dress.

3. Your child does not want to go shopping.
A young child does not usually like going clothes shopping. You can try persuading them with a treat after shopping, but this doesn't always work.

Have a growth chart at home, and monitor your child's height and weight. Many clothing stores have a size chart for you to refer to. Keep in mind that clothing made of cotton fabric tends to shrink after some laundering. To be safe, purchase clothes that are one size bigger.

4. Your child wants trendier clothes.
As your child grows older, he or she will want trendier pieces of clothing. Don't give in to every single item that your child wants. Today's fad may not be next week's craze. Stick to basic clothing items such as jeans, t-shirts and sneakers. You can, however, reward your child with a stylish outfit on an occasional basis.
